Peninsula Plaza - Otis High-Speed Traction Elevator

While the building itself looks pretty run down, there was one significant improvement made in the 2000s - the elevators were given a refurbishment by Otis (who originally installed them as well). This was one of the best modernizations I have ever seen. While in motion the elevator is so airy, you can hear the counterweight go past you! The elevators are now a lot faster, and the ground lobby as well as the cab itself feature LCD displays that are similar to Westin Atlantic (including the big arrow flash on arrival). For the interior, a custom display could have been created but the owners decided to leave them as default anyway. The button fixtures are similar to the ones at Hilton Hotel. The only thing left original in these elevators is the builders' decal at the door. Two other elevators serve the lower sections respectively. There is one fireman elevator that is designated to carry cargo (but have the same specifications) and stop at every floor.
